    • Discovery Phase
      • You tell us what you need, we ask questions, and we put together an estimate for the work based on your schedule. We’re used to meeting clients who already have the entire project sketched out as well as those who have the small seed of an idea.
      • Regardless of where your project is in its life cycle, by starting the conversation and asking key questions, we’ll set up a workable timeline for reaching important milestones.
    • Conception & Creation Phase
      • Now that we have all of the details of your project, we start working on concepts or wireframes. The concepts will guide the project in later stages, so its crucial there is a clear and concise vision that’s agreed upon by everyone.
      • If the project is already underway and you’re in need of a component of it, we’ll still do some early concepts to confirm you get what you want.
    • Design & Planning
      • This is after we’ve done the hard work of conception and with the clients approval we design how the project will be shaped and plan sprints.
      • Using Agile workflows, we’ll be realistic about what’s possible and achievable with the resources needed.
    • Milestones & Deliverables
      • We’re not happy until our clients are happy. With that in mind, we setup milestones based on what the client wants. The reality of production can lead to unforeseen challenges and setbacks, which lead to missing milestones and deliverables.
      • Our goal is to be as honest and open about those challenges from the start so that we can stay on track to hit the mark.
    • Retrospective & Next Steps
      • Once a project wraps up, we like to circle back with the clients and ask questions about what we did right and what we could improve on.
      • Hearing client feedback has helped us shape our approach for the past 11 years and grow in ways that allow us to take on bigger projects.
    • Technical Experience
      • Ironbelly has a team of talented artists and developers with a wealth of experience designing and implementing games for decades.
      • Our team and technical infrastructure are ready to take on new challenges, expanding boundaries and pushing tech to its limits.
    • Resource Scalability
      • Our hybrid distributed model allows us to flexibly scale up our team as well as enables us to work fast and efficiently across locations.
    • Location
      • Montreal is an epicenter of game development, attracting top-notch talent from around the world. It’s one of the many reasons our operations hub is located in this beautiful city!

our team

  • Core Team Members
    • Our core team members are full-time salaried and exclusively with Ironbelly Studios. Some of us are in Montreal and others are remotely based. This includes Leads and Management as well as our Art Director and Technical Director. We value team members who are driven and autonomous. We create an environment that thrives on efficiency and cohesion, to keep costs down and productivity up.
  • Full Time Contractors
    • We work with ultra specialists and folks who prefer to be flexible in order to burst output when needed. Mostly remote, with some occasionally brought onboard in Montreal. For us, the contractors we work with are treated the same as core team members. It’s a method that has served us well when we need to scale up quickly. We depend on our Contractors and they depend on us.
  • Part Time Contractors
    • This group of talented individuals are in our network and have worked with us before. In some cases, for over 4 years! This includes 2D, 3D, and Level Design Artists and Developers who are in between projects or ready to get started. It’s a great way for us to introduce talented folks to our way of working and onboarding them onto a new project. If we have to scale quickly or need extra support for an ongoing project we are going to reach out to our part time contractors first.
